WHAT IS FREE MOTION EMBROIDERY?
Free-motion machine embroidery is like drawing with a sewing machine. Instead of moving the needle and thread, I put the fabric in an embroidery hoop to hold it tight and move the fabric by hand in the direction of the design. For more detailed information and to see a time-lapse video, click here.
HOW DO YOU TURN A PHOTO INTO AN ILLUSTRATION?
For my full colour applique illustration I try to reflect the main colours of the image I am sent, as well as using other contrasting fabrics which add interest to the finished piece.
'Thread sketches' are reflective of simple pencil sketch line drawings. All embroidered pictures are stitch signed with my unique 'Naisy' signature. Waiting times vary - please get in touch to find out how long my current waiting list is.
WHAT SIZE DO YOU MAKE THE ARTWORK?
The embroidery will usually be mounted in a white/ivory coloured card mount with back. I will confirm the size I can make the embroidery on receiving the picture you wish to have embroidered, usually it is between A4-A3.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Thread sketches have set prices, otherwise most commissions are quoted individually upon receiving photos of what you would like - I am happy to provide free, no-obligation quotes.
